The Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has opened public consultation for the newly revised master plan of Hulhumalé, launched by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu. The plan outlines critical infrastructure and development updates aimed at expanding the island's capabilities and enhancing amenities for residents.
According to HDC, the master plan revision includes key changes such as increasing harbor capacity and introducing new opportunities for large-scale development projects essential to Hulhumalé’s future growth.
HDC’s Managing Director, Mohamed Mauroof Jameel, described the revised master plan as a foundational step in shaping Hulhumalé into a fully equipped, modern island city. He emphasized the importance of aligning development strategies with the evolving needs of residents by incorporating additional resources and upgraded infrastructure.
All relevant details of the master plan are now publicly accessible through the HDC online portal. The corporation has encouraged individuals and stakeholders to review the materials and submit their opinions electronically.
Feedback will be accepted until June 16, after which HDC will finalize the master plan based on the submissions received.
HDC reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive urban planning, noting that public involvement has always been a cornerstone of its development strategy. The corporation aims to continue building Hulhumalé into a livable and well-resourced urban space, guided by feedback from the community.
