Hulhumalé to host Culture and Food Festival for New Year celebrations

A three-day Culture and Food Festival will take place in Hulhumalé as part of New Year celebrations, featuring cultural showcases, live entertainment and diverse food offerings.

Organised by Visit Maldives Corporation in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism and Environment and the Housing Development Corporation, the festival will run from 30 December 2025 to 1 January 2026.

According to Visit Maldives, the programme will include cultural performances, family-friendly entertainment and food stalls offering a wide range of cuisines. A large-scale drone show, first introduced during last year’s New Year celebrations, will return, alongside fireworks and other festive attractions.

The organisers have also opened opportunities for sponsorships and partnerships for the event.

The festival will be open to both residents and tourists and is expected to serve as a major public attraction welcoming the New Year in Hulhumalé.
