MACL Named Official Aviation Partner for World Travel Awards 2026

Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has been appointed as the official aviation partner for the World Travel Awards Asia, Oceania & Indian Ocean 2026, signing an agreement with Visit Maldives Corporation (VMC) as preparations continue for the prestigious tourism event to be held in the Maldives.

The agreement was signed by VMC Manager of Business Development Aishath Shiranee Nasir and MACL General Manager of Air Service Development Nashaya Abdul Wahid.

Under the agreement, branding and promotional activities supporting the World Travel Awards will be carried out at Velana International Airport. The partnership is also expected to facilitate greater cooperation between companies operating in the tourism and aviation sectors, strengthen preparations for the awards ceremony and further enhance ties between the two industries.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Nashaya Abdul Wahid said MACL was pleased to establish the partnership with VMC in support of the World Travel Awards.

As the official aviation partner, she said MACL would welcome tourists arriving in the Maldives through Velana International Airport, provide them with a complete experience and support efforts to promote the Maldives internationally.

The World Travel Awards Asia, Oceania & Indian Ocean Gala Ceremony is scheduled to take place at CROSSROADS Maldives on September 27, 2026. The official World Travel Awards website confirms CROSSROADS Maldives as the venue for the ceremony. ([World Travel Awards][2])

The World Travel Awards is an international tourism awards programme established to recognise excellence across the travel and tourism industry.
