Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has opened a tender to lease vacant “Cargo Office” spaces at the newly constructed Cargo Terminal at Velana International Airport (VIA).
According to MACL, successful applicants will be granted licences to operate offices in the designated spaces and must establish and operate their offices in accordance with the company’s rules and procedures.
The tender is open to eligible applicants from at least one of four categories:
1. Cargo airlines registered and licensed with the Maldives Civil Aviation Authority (MCAA).
2. Cargo Sales Agents (CSAs) registered and licensed with the MCAA.
3. Cargo brokers, including clearing and forwarding agents, registered and licensed with Maldives Customs Service.
4. Courier agents registered and licensed with Maldives Customs Service.
Interested parties must register their interest through MACL’s Tender Portal by 10:15 a.m. on August 30, 2026. Registered parties will receive the tender documents through the portal once the registration period closes.
The deadline for submitting bids through the Tender Portal is 10:15 a.m. on September 6, 2026. The bids will be opened at the same time at MACL’s head office in the presence of the bidders.
MACL said the contract will be awarded following technical and financial evaluations to the bidder whose proposal is determined to be the most advantageous to the company under the specified evaluation criteria.
