Former Vice President Ahmed Adeeb's party Maldives Third-Way Democrats (MTD) has thanked President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih for acquiring enough vaccine doses for the entire eligible population.
A statement from MTD today read that under President Solih's leadership, much progress has been made in managing COVID-19, and enough vaccines have been obtained. The party expressed its gratitude to the President.
"President Solih has prioritized humanity, providing free vaccines for expatriate workers in Maldives without discrimination. 61 percent of the population has now completed both doses of their vaccination", MTD claimed.
The party noted that 70 percent of the population has received the first dose, which is great progress on a global standard.
Additionally, as data shows that vaccinations are lowest among those aged 18 to 26, the party urged the age groups to get vaccinated.
Although MTD has held a registration ceremony and has released some statements, the party has not conducted any political activites as of yet.
