Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation Submits Over 2,600 Names for Hulhumalé Housing Agreement Signing

Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) has sent more than 2,600 names to the Ministry of Housing for signing agreements with recipients of the 4,000 housing units developed in the second phase of Hulhumalé.
The signing process began on July 21 and will resume tomorrow following the Independence Day and weekend holidays. Agreement signing will take place between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM on designated days.
Flats will be handed over after completion of finishing work and will be equipped with fans, windows, doors, tiles, paint, and bathroom fixtures including sinks.
To address previous unpaid rent issues, the government has structured the agreements for 25 years, with property registration transferred after payment of designated rent.
The government provides monthly subsidies of MVR 4,000 for three-bedroom units and MVR 2,000 for two-bedroom units. Without subsidies, rents are MVR 13,000 for three-bedroom and MVR 9,000 for two-bedroom units.
Rent and maintenance fees paid before the 10th of each month benefit from reduced rates of MVR 9,000 for three-bedroom and MVR 7,000 for two-bedroom units. Maintenance fees are set at MVR 1,500 for three-bedroom and MVR 1,000 for two-bedroom units.
The project comprises 32 towers, each 18 stories high, funded by a MVR 3.5 billion loan from India’s EXIM Bank. Sixteen towers under the “Aman Udhares” scheme are contracted to India’s JMC, and sixteen under the “Aman Dhodhi” scheme are contracted to NBCC.
The flats include 1,200 two-bedroom and 2,800 three-bedroom units.
