State Electric Company Limited (STELCO) has announced that electricity bills for this year’s Ramadan will be prepared separately, with discounts applied based on consumption patterns.
The company made the announcement during a press conference held today, stating that the decision was made following public concerns over last year’s Ramadan bills, which some customers found higher than usual.
To address these concerns, STELCO will take meter readings on the first and last days of Ramadan and prepare separate bills for the period. A minimum discount of 10 percent will be applied, with the exact percentage based on electricity consumption over the past year.
In addition to electricity bill discounts, STELCO confirmed that water bills would also receive reductions this year, similar to the discounts applied in the previous Ramadan.
