STELCO Warns of Power Outages in Hulhumalé and Malé Due to Grid Upgrade Work

The State Electric Company Limited (STELCO) has announced scheduled power interruptions in some areas of Hulhumalé and Malé over the next two days as part of ongoing efforts to upgrade its electrical grid.

According to STELCO, work will take place tomorrow in Hulhumalé Phase 1, where residents may experience brief power outages between 3:00 PM and 3:30 PM. The affected areas are expected to include Handhuvaree Hingum and Reethi Basmagu.

On the following day, STELCO will carry out electrical work in Malé. During this period, power outages are anticipated from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM. Areas likely to be affected include Boduthakurufaanu Magu, Hiyalee Goalhi, Roshani Magu, and Violet Hingun.

STELCO apologised for any inconvenience caused, assuring the public that all outages will be kept to a minimum and only occur after prior notice.
