MATATO Warns Travellers Against Fraudulent Visa Websites

President of MATATO, Abdulla Qiyas
The Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO) has issued a warning to tourists regarding fraudulent websites falsely claiming to charge visa fees for entry into the Maldives.
MATATO highlighted that tourist visas to the Maldives are issued free of charge upon arrival. However, fake platforms, such as https://www.maldives-entrymale.com/, have emerged, attempting to mislead travellers by charging unauthorised fees.

The association urged tourists to rely only on official sources, emphasising the use of the Maldives Immigration’s official website: [https://imuga.immigration.gov.mv/traveller]. MATATO further cautioned that other fraudulent websites might exist and advised travelers to remain vigilant.

For inquiries or further clarification, MATATO encouraged travellers to contact them directly via email at admin@matato.org.
