Damas Real Estate Private Limited, a subsidiary of the Damas Company, has decided to develop the first parkade structure in the Maldives.
An event was held yesterday to officially launch the project. The building will be developed and operated by Damas Real Estate.
Housing Development Corporation (HDC) signed a framework agreement with Damas for the development of the parking building.
Damas stated that the parkade named “One Park” will include state of the art technology.
Storey two through six of the six storey structure of One Park will be used for parking and Damas expects to accommodate 500 cars and motorcycles in the building. The first floor and the top of the building will hold restaurants, shop and other commercial spaces.
Speaking at the ceremony held to launch the “One Park” project the Managing Director of Damas Abdulla Solih said that the building will implement the latest technology, and was designed with the future changes in car and other vehicle usage in mind. He added that being mindful of the fact that there will be more electrical vehicles than petrol or diesel ones in the future, the building will have facilities for recharging such vehicles.
Abdulla Solih assured that the building will provide valet parking for the first time in the Maldives.
“One Park” will allow three forms of parking; charging per hour of parking, charging for parking slots for longer periods and private parking. The parkade will also have parking slots for handicapped persons.
Furthermore, Abdulla Solih stated that “One Park” will provide toll free parking for the people visiting restaurants and shops located in the building during some hours.
Damas has already opened applications to book plots and parking spaces at “One Park”. More information on the services provided by the parkade is available on their official website.
