Waheed's Testimony Should be Taken for Yameen's Trial: Adhurey

Opposition Coalition Leader Abdulraheem (Adhurey) called for the government to take the testimony of Former Tourism Minister Ali Waheed and not to influence the Supreme Court in the trial of Former President Yameen Abdul Gayoom.
Speaking at a news conference held by the Opposition Coalition he said that if the state can use convicted individual’s testimony why not take the testimony of Ali Waheed.
Adhurey further said that when the MMPRC scandal was happening Ali Waheed was the chairperson of the now ruling Maldives Democratic Party (MDP). He also said that this is a very serious issue as Ali Waheed had worked closely with President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
The Opposition Coalition believes that the Supreme Court Verdict will be fair even though the lower court's verdict was influenced. Adhurey called to maintain the trust of people have in the Judiciary by the verdicts of the Supreme Court.
