Parliament Speaker Abdul Raheem Abdulla has officially appointed former MP Ahmed Nihan Hassan Manik as the Chief of Bureau of the Parliament. Sources confirm that Nihan began his duties in this new role yesterday.
Nihan, who previously served as the parliamentary group leader for his party, has been appointed to assist the Speaker in his duties under the Parliamentary Service Rules. He brings a wealth of experience to the position, having represented the Villimale' constituency for two terms.
Prior to Nihan's appointment, the position was held by Fathimath Mohamed Solih. The transition marks a significant change in the parliamentary administration, with Nihan expected to leverage his extensive legislative experience to support the Speaker effectively.
