The first-ever Deputy Mayor of Male’ City Ahmed Samaah Rasheed has joined the opposition Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM).
Samaah joined the party during Friday night’s “Addana” event. An additional 80 people joined PPM along with Samaah. During his time as deputy mayor, he was a member of the Maldives Democratic Party (MDP).
PPM has been conducting a movement dubbed “Maves PPM” to recruit new members. Many have been joining the party.
PPM’s event held on Friday night was one of the largest recent gatherings held in Male’.
