Mohamed Jazeel has been arrested for attacking Mariyam Zubair (Mandhy), a member of the Maldives Democratic Party (MDP) Secretariat, in the party’s office.
According to police, Jazeel was arrested on Friday per a court order. Mandhy sustained a head injury from the attack.
The attacker Jazeel is also an MDP employee. He claimed that he attacked Mandhy as he was being continuously harassed by her and others. However, Mandhy has falsified his claims.
Mandhy is the mother of MP Mickail Naseem. Mickail tweeted that his mother’s attacker was under the influence. Jazeel has denied the accusation.
