An outbound passenger at Velana International Airport (VIA) was arrested on July 10 for being in possession of bullets.
Although the remand for the 60-year-old Namibian male has been increased twice, authorities have yet to reveal how he brought the bullets into Maldives.
Remand was increased by three days on July 12. The Criminal Court then increased his detention period as the initial three-day duration expired.
The bullets discovered when leaving the country were supposedly in his possession when he entered the Maldives. Police and Customs have refused to comment despite repeated queries.
