Rozaina's Husband to Acquire Island to Construct Resort

Husband of parliament representative for Addu-Meedhoo constituency Rozaina Adam, the representative for Kinbidhoo constituency Mohamed Nashiz has decided to purchase an island for the construction of a resort.
Recently, the Ministry of Tourism announced the sale of islands for the construction of resorts, and Pearl Sands of Maldives, where Nashiz is the majority shareholder, placed a bid for Veli Finolhu, Haa Alifu Atoll. The company placed a bid of USD 610,000 (MVR 9.4 million).
Sources claim that Rozaina and Nashiz recently received a bribe from India. However, Nashiz has denied the claim. Speaking to Dhiyares, he stated it was a "blatant lie".
Nashiz declared he and his family have previously been involved in business.
"I have not received any money", he said. He reiterated that his accounts are visible, and anyone who wishes to examine them may do so. Nashiz mentioned that if such a large amount was sent from India, Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) would have red-flagged his account.
While Nashiz has decided to acquire an island for the construction of a resort, most businesses in the Maldives have been at a standstill for about a year.
