Ibrahim Zihan, apprehended for his involvement in the abduction, torture, and murder of a 13-year-old, is facing charges of sexual assault.
Summoned to court to extend his detention period, police accused Ibrahim Zihan of four serious crimes. Intentional homicide, abduction, sexual assault of a minor, and creating unrest.
The court decided to remand the accused during the investigation. It is worth noting that it is a rarely made decision. A 17-year-old was also arrested for his involvement in the crime, earning a 15-day remand period.
Although the two suspects were apprehended at a guesthouse, H. Extra Haven Guest House in Male', the room was booked by another person. The child was missing on Saturday when the two fled to their hideout.
Sources report that the body was found in a suitcase in the sea, and had significant injuries, including ligature marks that indicated strangulation. Arrangements to send the body abroad for a postmortem are underway.
