MP Mohammed Nasheed Abdullah (Mosta)

Aung San Suu Kyii and Majlis Speaker Nasheed are Slaves of the West : Mosta

The West works in defence of Aung San Suu Kyii and Majlis Speaker Mohamed Nasheed as both of them share the same ideology, said MP Mohamed "Mosta" Nasheed Abdullah (Nolhivaram).
MP Nasheed mentioned this in response to the news of the United States threatening Myanmar with sanctions following a military coup that overthrew Aung San Suu Kyii. Many Western nations have released statements in defence of Suu Kyii and have threatend Myanmar with measures.
Many have drawn parallels to how Western nations threatened the Maldives with sanctions after then-President Mohamed Nasheed, the Majlis Speaker, resigned from his post on February 7, 2012. In addition, many Western countries disregarded the Maldivian judicial process and issued more threats after Nasheed had been found guilty for ordering the kidnapping of a Criminal Court judge, during his term.

MP Nasheed referenced the military coup that brought an end to the term of Egypt's first elected President, the late Dr Mohamed Morsi. He mentioned that no Western countries had issued statements in support of Dr Morsi, condemning General Abdel-Fattah el-Sisi or his regime. MP Nasheed stated that this was so as Dr Morsi was "an Islamic leader".

MP Nasheed added that the West was so vocal in defence of Suu Kyii and Speaker Nasheed because "the masters will always defend their slaves".
