Police Do Not Have a Brutality License: Mosta

Parliament Member for Nolhivaram Constituency Mohamed Nasheed Abdulla has stated that the Police Service of Maldives does not retain a license for brutality.
Mosta stated this during a time when the Opposition had been voicing out regarding excessive police brutality during the Opposition demonstrations. Complaints regarding inappropriate language towards journalists have also rose recently against the Police force.
Mosta tweeted today sharing a picture of Police brutality towards a citizen recently, asking under which law this is taking place.
Mosta further noted that if brutality is a constant in the Police force the results of it might be negative. He stated that the police do not carry a license to be brutal towards citizen and called out to the Human Rights Commission of Maldives and the Commissioner of Police to stop the brutality.
