British High Commissioner to the Maldives Nick Low has held discussions with officials from the Ministry of Tourism and Environment on the Maldives’ key climate change priorities and the urgent need for international support.
The meeting focused on the country’s ongoing efforts to address loss and damage resulting from climate change impacts, as well as the critical importance of securing adequate international assistance to tackle these challenges. Discussions also covered the Maldives’ strategies to access climate finance from multilateral funds to support adaptation and mitigation initiatives.
The talks underscored the Maldives’ active engagement with international partners to build greater climate resilience and mobilise the necessary financial resources in line with national priorities.
This meeting reflects the continued bilateral cooperation between the Maldives and the United Kingdom in addressing climate vulnerability and advancing global climate action.
