Russia ranked second with 12.6 percent, followed by the United Kingdom (8.8 percent), Germany (7.4 percent), and Italy (6.6 percent). The top ten markets also included India, the United States, France, Spain, and Australia.
As of November, there were 1,292 operational tourist facilities in the Maldives, offering a total of 66,054 beds. Of these, 44,239 beds were in resorts, 16,068 in guesthouses, 2,484 in hotels, and 3,263 in safari vessels.
With the festive season approaching, tourist arrivals are expected to rise further in the coming weeks. The Ministry noted that ongoing promotional campaigns under the Visit Maldives brand across key international markets are expected to further boost arrivals as the Maldives enters its busiest period of the year.
