Media Commission Elections to Be Conducted Within Existing Budget: EC President

The President of the Elections Commission (EC), Mohamed Zahid, has stated that the upcoming elections for the Media Commission will be carried out within the commission’s existing budget, without requiring additional funds or personnel.
Speaking on a programme aired by PSM News, Zahid said the EC team is fully prepared and expects minimal challenges in organizing the election. He added that even though it is a small-scale election, the process will be conducted with the same level of thoroughness as other national elections to ensure legitimacy.
In the upcoming election, four members will be appointed to the Media Commission—two from among broadcasters and two from other media sectors. Applications for these positions remain open until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
