Tourism Ministry statistics reveal that 971 new operational beds have been added to the Maldives tourism sector so far this year, bringing the total capacity to 64,219 beds.
At the start of 2025, operational capacity stood at 63,248 beds — comprising 42,547 in resorts, 15,621 in guesthouses, 2,028 in hotels, and 3,052 on safari vessels. The latest figures show notable increases, particularly in resorts, which now offer 43,483 beds.
As of August 12, the Maldives has 1,239 active tourist facilities, including 175 resorts, 890 guesthouses, 158 safari vessels, and 16 hotels. The total registered bed capacity nationwide stands at 66,025.
Tourist arrivals have also seen growth, with 1,374,699 visitors recorded so far this year — a 9% increase compared to the same period in 2024.
