The Immigration Task Force arrested 25 foreigners during a raid conducted this morning targeting a café and accommodation block on Karanka Road, Malé. The arrested individuals were found to be working illegally in the Maldives.
According to the Immigration Department, the operation involved screening numerous foreigners in the area, resulting in the detention of those violating immigration and labour laws. This is part of ongoing efforts to curb illegal immigration in the country.
Several similar raids have been conducted across Malé throughout the year, with detained individuals being held at the Deportation Center pending repatriation to their home countries.
Immigration authorities are intensifying surveillance in public areas of Malé and conducting special operations nationwide to monitor and manage illegal foreign residents.
