The Maldives Meteorological Service has issued a white alert for the entire country due to expected high waves from 3:30 PM today until 7:30 PM tonight.
In addition to the nationwide white alert, a yellow alert is in effect for the central and northern atolls until 5:30 PM, warning of bad weather conditions. A white alert also covers areas from central to southern Maldives until 5:00 PM.
The Met Office forecasts winds reaching up to 50 miles per hour amid ongoing rainy weather. Residents are advised to exercise caution, especially those in coastal and low-lying areas.
Rainfall is expected to continue across various parts of the Maldives for the next three days, according to the latest forecast.
