Mostly cloudy weather with scattered showers expected during holidays

The Maldives Meteorological Service has forecast mostly cloudy weather with scattered showers across the Maldives during the upcoming holidays.
According to the Met Office, rainfall is expected in different parts of the country on both Friday and Saturday, with weather conditions likely to deteriorate further on Saturday compared to Sunday.
The agency stated that winds are expected to strengthen from Saturday and intensify further by Monday.
For the next 24 hours, thundershowers are forecast in parts of the country, although widespread heavy rainfall is not currently expected during the weekend.
Wind speeds in the southern atolls are expected to range between 10 and 20 miles per hour, while northern and central regions are forecast to experience winds between 8 and 18 miles per hour, with gusts reaching up to 35 miles per hour during showers.
Sea conditions are expected to remain moderately rough to rough over the coming 24 hours. Wave heights are forecast between four and six feet in southern atolls, and between three and five feet in northern and central areas.
The Met Office has advised the public and seafarers to remain cautious due to unstable weather conditions and possible heavy showers in some regions.
