President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and First Lady Madam Sajidha Mohamed departed for a state visit to Singapore this afternoon. The official visit is scheduled to take place from June 29 to July 2, 2025.
According to the President’s Office, President Muizzu will hold bilateral talks with the leadership of Singapore aimed at strengthening cooperation in several areas, including trade, urban planning, capacity-building, technical expertise exchange, and multilateral engagement. Several key memoranda of understanding (MoUs) are expected to be signed during this visit.
In addition to official engagements, the President will also attend a business forum and is scheduled to meet with members of the Maldivian community in Singapore.
The visit also commemorates the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Maldives and Singapore. The two countries formally established diplomatic ties on February 20, 1975.
