President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced that the government aims to implement a total of 2,130 development projects across the Maldives during this year and the next.
Speaking during a media briefing with journalists, President Muizzu emphasized that these projects are designed to fulfill the pledges he made during his presidential campaign.
According to the President, the largest share of the projects—551 in total—are sports-related. Waste management initiatives follow closely behind. The list also includes 131 health sector projects and 141 education-focused projects. Additionally, the government has planned 37 housing projects and 42 land reclamation efforts.
“This is how we have planned to fulfill these promises, and the government will proceed according to this plan,” the President stated.
