All Essential Medicines to Be Available at STO Pharmacies from March 15

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced that all medicines listed as essential by the Maldives Food and Drug Authority (MFDA) will be available at State Trading Organisation (STO) pharmacies starting March 15.

The President made this announcement during his ongoing tour of South Nilandhe Atoll while meeting with residents of Meedhoo.

Speaking at the meeting, President Muizzu stated that the government has put an end to pharmacies generating excessive profits from medicine sales, a practice he said contributed to recent medicine shortages. He emphasized that the government will not allow any entity to create hardships for citizens by restricting access to essential medicines.
