President Muizzu Extends Greetings to China on Spring Festival and Chinese New Year

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has extended official greetings to the leadership of the People's Republic of China on the occasion of the Spring Festival and Chinese New Year.
In separate messages addressed to President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang, President Muizzu conveyed warm wishes on behalf of the Government and people of the Maldives. He reaffirmed the Maldives' commitment to the One-China Principle and underscored the importance of further strengthening bilateral relations.
The President emphasized the significance of consolidating the China-Maldives Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership, highlighting the mutual benefits of enhanced cooperation between the two nations. He also extended best wishes for the continued prosperity of the Chinese people and the personal well-being of President Xi and Premier Li.
Diplomatic relations between the Maldives and China were established on October 14, 1972, and have since evolved into a strategic partnership across various sectors. In addition to his official messages, President Muizzu also shared his greetings on his official X account to mark the occasion.
