Bangladeshi National Arrested With Liquor and Suspected Drugs Handed Over to Immigration

A Bangladeshi national, Mohammad Arif Mia, 31, has been handed over to Maldives Immigration following his arrest for illegal possession of liquor and suspected drugs. Authorities are now processing his case for potential deportation.
The arrest was made during a targeted operation on Friday night after counter-narcotics intelligence flagged alleged illegal activities involving liquor and drugs. A search of a location linked to Arif resulted in the recovery of 92 bottles of liquor and a rubber packet containing 1.05 grams of a substance believed to be drugs.
The operation was a joint effort by the drug enforcement and counter-narcotics intelligence teams, focused on curbing the possession, use, trade, and smuggling of prohibited substances.
Police have confirmed ongoing investigations into the matter and handed the suspect over to immigration authorities, who will determine further action.
