In a continued effort to elevate sports development in the Maldives, the Bank of Maldives (BML) has renewed its partnership with the Maldives Olympic Committee (MOC) to offer the Sports Scholarship Program for the second consecutive year. The initiative is designed to provide top national athletes with opportunities to enhance their training and improve their performance at a global level.
This fully funded scholarship enables athletes to access specialized training programs at internationally renowned high-performance training centers. The MOC will oversee the selection process, with nominations open to member associations across the nation.
In the inaugural year of the program, seven athletes from four different sports disciplines successfully completed their training, marking a significant achievement in the country's efforts to nurture elite talent. This collaboration between BML and MOC serves as a vital step in fostering the growth of sports in the Maldives, offering athletes the tools they need to compete internationally and reach their full potential. BML’s partnership with MOC highlights the bank’s long-standing commitment to supporting not only the economic but also the social development of the Maldives.
