First corporate relay race held in the Maldives

The Maldives held its first corporate relay race on Saturday, with 18 teams competing in a five-person event at Crossroads Maldives.
The BML WeRun – Corporates event was organised by WeRun Maldives in partnership with Bank of Maldives (BML), with the aim of promoting healthy lifestyles and team spirit among employees of companies and institutions.
The relay featured five runners per team, with each participant completing a one-kilometre leg. Organisers said the event was the first in the country to use a timing chip embedded in the relay baton.
Eleven men's teams and seven women's teams took part in the race.
The Track and Field Association won the men's competition, followed by RuninMode Athletics in second place and Bank of Maldives in third.
In the women's category, RuninMode Athletics took first place, with Crossroads Island Sprinters finishing second and ADK Synergy third.
Bank of Maldives said it remains committed to supporting sports and other social initiatives aimed at promoting healthier lifestyles and community development.
