Vice President Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef Stresses Patriotism as Pillar of Maldivian Sovereignty

Vice President Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef underscored the significance of patriotism in preserving the Maldives' freedom and cultural identity during the inauguration of the Kalhuohfunmi-Dhivehi Gaumiyyathuge Dharubaaru conference, held this morning.
In his address, the Vice President hailed the conference as a pivotal initiative to enhance awareness of Maldivian patriotism and self-determination. He expressed confidence that the platform would foster discussions on key national values, identity, and sovereignty.
“Maldivians are fortunate,” he noted, referencing the international acclaim of the country’s natural beauty. He further stressed the need for global recognition of the Maldivian language and the spirit of patriotism, encouraging the demonstration of Maldivian hospitality and security to visiting tourists.
The Vice President also highlighted President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s dedication to safeguarding national sovereignty, citing the President's focus on national symbols like the flag and anthem. He called upon all Maldivians to support the President’s vision, particularly the establishment of a nationhood college aimed at nurturing national pride and advancing national discourse.
The Kalhuohfunmi-Dhivehi Gaumiyyathuge Dharubaaru conference brings together experts and participants to explore Maldivian unity, citizenship, and maritime governance. The event aims to foster academic interpretations of Maldivian identity and promote initiatives that bolster national awareness and pride.
