Fifteen senior officers from the Maldives Police Service have embarked on a two-week leadership seminar in Haikou, Hainan Province, China, aimed at enhancing policing capabilities and fostering international cooperation.
The programme, titled "Seminar for Intermediate Senior Police Officers," is hosted by China's Ministry of Public Security and runs until December 14. The delegation includes Superintendent of Police Rahma Saeed, Chief Inspectors Mohamed Dhimham and Nasrullah Jaleel, along with 12 other senior officers.
This intensive seminar blends modern policing techniques with traditional practices, focusing on leadership development, fraud prevention, public engagement strategies, and martial arts training, including Tai Chi self-defence. Participants will also study Chinese President Xi Jinping's legal philosophy, police strategy, and leadership principles.
The programme concludes with hands-on sessions in investigation techniques, SWAT tactics, and community outreach, equipping Maldivian officers with advanced skills to enhance national law enforcement efforts. This initiative signifies a milestone in strengthening the Maldives’ policing framework and deepening Maldives-China security cooperation.
