The Government of Maldives has issued a strong condemnation of Israel’s recent military strikes on the Islamic Republic of Iran, denouncing the actions as a violation of Iran's sovereignty and a breach of international law.
In an official statement released on October 26, 2024, the Maldives government called for the immediate de-escalation of hostilities, which it warned are intensifying tensions and posing risks to the stability and security of the region.
The Maldives urged all involved parties to exercise maximum restraint and adhere to international law, stressing the importance of a diplomatic resolution to the ongoing conflict. The government further appealed to the international community to take all necessary measures to halt hostilities and to actively promote dialogue toward achieving lasting peace in the region.
