Applications Open for Presidential Special Award for Outstanding Achievement

The Maldivian government has announced that nominations are now open for the prestigious Presidential Special Award for Outstanding Achievement. This accolade, which is one of the highest honors in the country, will be presented in four distinct categories this year. The nomination period begins today and will remain open until September.

The first category acknowledges outstanding achievements in higher education and training. This includes individuals who have attained a Level 10 qualification in the National Qualifications Framework and those who have achieved the highest grades in obtaining Level 7, 8, or 9 qualifications.

The second category is dedicated to those who have secured the highest rank or honor in an international competition or measurement, excluding international exhibitions. This aims to celebrate individuals who have demonstrated exceptional skill and competence on a global stage.

The third category recognizes those who have made significant contributions by creating new inventions or products, or by conducting scientific research aimed at solving critical national issues. This category highlights the importance of innovation and scientific inquiry in addressing the country's key challenges.

A new fourth category has been introduced this year, focusing on the creative and innovative work of skilled young professionals contributing to national development. This award targets young individuals between the ages of 18 and 30 who have shown remarkable ingenuity and dedication in their respective fields.

To submit a nomination, applicants must complete the requirements outlined in the application form and ensure that all necessary documents are included. It is important to note that if the documents are printed on both sides, assistance should be sought to ensure they meet the submission criteria. Special attention to these details is requested to facilitate a smooth nomination process.

The awards will be presented at an official ceremony on this year's Republic Day, celebrating the extraordinary achievements of the nation's most distinguished individuals in education, innovation, and national development.
