President Muizzu Urges Students to Return and Serve the Maldives

President Mohamed Muizzu has called on Maldivian students studying abroad to return home and serve the country upon completing their education. He made these remarks during the presentation of the Presidential Scholarship and High Achievement Scholarship.
The President emphasized that higher education is not only about personal and professional growth but also about contributing to the society and the country. "Always consider what you are doing not just for yourself and your family but also for the society and the country," President Muizzu stated. He urged students to think about their potential contributions to the nation upon finishing their studies.
Acknowledging the current challenges in the Maldives, President Muizzu highlighted the housing issue as a significant factor deterring graduates from returning. "Many children do not come back to the Maldives after graduation because of the housing problem," he noted, adding that this issue remains unresolved. He assured that his administration is committed to solving the housing crisis to facilitate the return of graduates.
President Muizzu also addressed the employment challenges faced by returning graduates. He mentioned that the government is actively working to resolve these issues by declaring many job sectors exclusively for Maldivians. "In the next five years, many sectors will become exclusively for Maldivians," he announced, emphasizing the need for educated individuals in various fields to drive the country's development.
The President's call to action underscores the government's dedication to creating a conducive environment for returning graduates, ensuring they can contribute effectively to the Maldives' growth and prosperity.
