The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Moosa Zameer, departed for Sri Lanka on an official visit from June 3 to 6, 2024. During this visit, Minister Zameer will engage in a series of high-level meetings aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and exploring new avenues of cooperation between the Maldives and Sri Lanka.
Minister Zameer is scheduled to pay courtesy calls on President Ranil Wickremesinghe and Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena. Additionally, he will hold bilateral talks with his counterpart, Foreign Minister M.U.M. Ali Sabry, to discuss ways to enhance the longstanding relationship between the two nations.
The visit also includes meetings with other senior government officials to explore opportunities for collaboration across various sectors. Accompanying Minister Zameer are Sheryna Abdul Samad, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Shiruzimath Sameer, Additional Secretary, and Aishath Fareena, Director General at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
This official visit underscores the Maldives' commitment to fostering stronger diplomatic and economic ties with Sri Lanka, aiming for mutual growth and development in both countries.
