President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has urged the people to make the most of the last 10 days of the holy month of Ramadan.
The President was responding to a question by Ali Shafeeu, in yesterday’s segment of the President's Office's daily "President's Answer" program. President Dr. Muizzu said the last 10 days of Ramadan started yesterday. The President said these last 10 days of Ramadan are special days in the pursuit of the blessings and rewards.
The government has decided to close the last 10 days of Ramadan to make it easier to spend more time in worship. He also said that it would be much easier for the people to earn the good rewards of the last 10 days if these days were declared as holidays rather than getting up in the morning and going to work.
“I hope we will all make the most of the last 10,” he said.
This is the first time the government has closed the last 10 months of Ramadan. In addition, the President has decided to give a special allowance to government employees who are forced to attend duty in the last 10 days because of their work.
