President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has promised to work to provide a risk allowance to those government and state-owned enterprise employees whose work warrants such a fund.
Aminath Nathash asked a question about the risk allowance of government employees in the President's Office's series "President's Answers.”
Nathasha's question mentioned that MTCC, HDC, WAMCO, as well as other state-owned enterprises are places where employees work very hard, but they do not pay risk allowance. Nathasha also noted that a risk allowance is very much wanted by the people.
Replying to Natasha's question, the President said that if the work involves risk, the risk allowance should be provided as part of the company's corporate policy.
The President added that he would try to arrange allowances to compensate for any risk involved in the work done by the people.
The President also mentioned the differences in the work done by the companies and cited MTCC as an example. The President said the company's employees in port construction and other activities will be different from the employees of a company that does not work in outdoor activities or risky places.
