The Maldivian Government has expanded the coverage of the national health insurance to cover the treatment of IVF and IUI. Therefore, those who have difficulty in affording IUI and IVF treatment have been invited to apply for state assistance.
The National Social Protection Agency (NSPA) has issued two separate announcements on the provision of IUI and IVF treatments through the Aasandha Scheme. It has been open since yesterday.
Under this rule, eligible persons who are unable to afford IUI and IVF treatment can apply for assistance through the State Assistance Application Form.
NSPA said that IUI and IVF treatment can be provided under the Aasandha Scheme, through the health care providers in the country empaneled to provide this service, for a total of three times.
Application forms are available at Aasandha counters and on the agency's website. Applications can be submitted at the Aasandha office in the Fen Building, Treetop, IGMH and ADK as well as at the counters at Hulhumale Hospital.
The cost of these treatments is high, and President Dr. Muizzu has made it a presidential promise to address this difficulty facing the citizens.
