Aasandha has signed agreements with three prominent foreign hospitals to extend its healthcare services to the UAE and Thailand. The agreements, finalized today, include partnerships with Burjeel Medical City in Dubai, World Medical Hospital in Bangkok, and Bangkok Hospital in Bangkok.
With these agreements, patients eligible under the Aasandha scheme will be able to access treatment at these hospitals starting January 15, 2025, following established referral procedures.
The CEO of the National Social Protection Agency (NSPA) highlighted that this initiative marks significant progress in fulfilling President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s pledge to provide Aasandha services in the UAE and Thailand. The announcement follows President Muizzu’s inaugural state visit to China, during which he emphasized the importance of expanding healthcare accessibility for Maldivians.
This expansion aligns with the government’s vision to enhance the availability of specialized healthcare services for Maldivian citizens.
