The upcoming parliamentary elections should be used to elect people who will support the government's developmental agenda, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu said.
President Muizzu said this during his current visit to the northern atolls, at a rally in Hoarafushi today.
President Dr. Muizzu said his determination is to fulfill all the promises he made, and his team is working accordingly.
Therefore, he wants the projects to move forward at high speed without any obstacles, he said.
"It is the constitutional system of Maldives, the way the Constitution is shaped. No matter the size of a project the government wants to implement, whether it wants to make a law, whether it changes a law or otherwise, Parliament can stop it,” President Dr. Muizzu said, explaining the importance of the Parliament to the ability of the government to carry out its agenda.
President Dr. Muizzu further said that it is very important to elect members of parliament who are willing to facilitate the work to be done for the benefit of the people.
