President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has expressed the Maldives’ support for the International Criminal Court’s (ICC) recent decisions concerning the situation in the State of Palestine. In a statement issued via Twitter, President Muizzu described the decision as a significant step towards accountability for war crimes and crimes against humanity.
The President reiterated the Maldives' commitment to upholding international law and ensuring that justice is served for the Palestinian people, emphasizing that the implementation of the ICC’s rulings is vital for peace in the region.
"The Maldives respects the decisions of the ICC and underscores the importance of honoring and implementing the Court’s rulings," stated President Muizzu. He further highlighted the essential role of accountability in addressing violations of international humanitarian law and achieving lasting peace for the Palestinian people.
