Maldivian Airlines will bring in wide-body aircraft and start flights in January.
The President said this at a special session to mark the one-year anniversary of the government. The President said that work is underway to bring in the wide-body aircraft and the first aircraft will start flying in early January
The President’s comments come as Maldivian Airlines has signed an agreement with TrueNord to bring in an A330-200 Airbus. The A330-200 Airbus has a nonstop direct flight capacity of 13,000 km.
The airbus, which has a total of 264 seats, has three classes. They are 18-seat business class, 36-seat premium economy class and 210-seat economy class.
The wide-body aircraft is scheduled to make its first flights to China.
