Minister of Foreign Affairs Moosa Zameer met with United States Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources Richard Verma.
During the meeting, Minister Zameer and Deputy Secretary of State Verma discussed further strengthening of Maldives-US relations.
The two also discussed broad cooperation in the areas of democratic principles, rule of law, economic prosperity, and defense and security.
The two leaders also discussed strengthening visa procedures, strengthening people-to-people relations, tourism, climate change, and other areas of mutual interest.
The meeting was attended by Minister Zameer. After taking the oath of office, Muizzu thanked the US Government for its interest in strengthening relations with Maldives.
