In the last 5 years, the previous government printed a total of 8 billion MVR, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu said, which is more than the total amount printed in the last 40 years.
The President said his government would not print money no matter how difficult it was, and the World Monetary Fund had issued a statement supporting and praising his government’s decision.
The President assured the people of Feydhoo that his government would provide everything the people needed. The President said that the people of Feydhoo will be able to use the dry land, and water and sewerage services will be established.
Development projects are very difficult and the economy of the country has been plunged into a deep hole, he said. The last government drained this country of 120 billion MVR, and should be ashamed to come out again and ask for a chance for them in the parliamentary election campaign.
The meeting was attended by a delegation of ministers who are participating in the President's visit to four southern provinces. Defense Minister Ghassan Maumoon, Health Minister Dr. Abdullah Khaleel, Education Minister Ismail Shafeeu, Special Advisor to the President Abdul Raheem Abdullah, and Youth Minister Ibrahim Waheed are accompanying the President on his trip.
