Government to Build Flats for Tourism Workers

The government will soon build social housing units to accommodate those working in the tourism sector, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu said yesterday.
The President said the tourism sector, especially the youth, is a special priority in his government.
The Cabinet has also decided to implement a special housing scheme for those working in the tourism sector, as promised.
“The framework has been approved and decided by the Cabinet. Based on the framework, the details of the category will be decided with the opinions and consultations of various associations and stakeholders working in the tourism sector.”
The President said that a certain percentage of the projects in various areas of tourism will be allocated to those working in the tourism sector. The President said the government's policy is to provide flats to youths working in resorts in different parts of the country.
The President also assured that the tourism sector will be conducted in consultation with the workers in the sector.
