Vice President Urges Citizens to Put Interests of Maldives First

The people of the country should work towards improving the religious and national interests of Maldives, Vice President Uz. Hussain Mohamed Latheef has said.
He was speaking at an event held on the occasion of Martyrs' Day yesterday evening.
Speaking at the function, he said every Maldivian individual should not hesitate to put the interests of Islam and the country above his own interests.
In addition, it is very important to learn important lessons from the jihad of heroes like King Ali. He said the lessons learned from the incidents will preserve the independence of the Maldivian state for future generations.
In addition, the Vice-President thanked the President for impressing upon the people the importance of Martyrs' Day. The President’s move is very important for the preservation of nationalism and independence.
Many senior government officials and students from various schools attended the function held at the Social Center.
